On Saturday, December 15, over 60 of our church members flooded Klyde Warren Park to serve those in our downtown community. The event was a success with new relationships forged wih both the park staff and families who came out to enjoy the day.
Our volunteers served over 300 cups of hot chocolate in under two hours. As we met and talked with people, we invited people to our Christmas worship services, passed out specially wrapped dog treats for the animal lovers, and gave away over 300 candy canes. We were also able to introduce people to our ministry by taking pictures and making them available on our Day One facebook page.
The highlight of the Day was a concert led by our own Day One band. Because of the generosity of those at the park, we were able to collect canned food and hundreds of dollars for the North Texas Food Bank. We are excited about how the Lord used our volunteers among people in our own community and pray the Lord continues to use us in the future as we continue to build relationships.
Enjoy a few pictures from the event!
